Cairn Energy India Pty Ltd., (CEPL), Global Expression of Interest (EOI) for 2D and 3D Marine Seismic Data Acquisition and Processing Services.

Cairn Energy India Pty Ltd. (“CEIL”) is the Operator, of the KG-OSN-2009/3 and MB-DWN-2009/1 Contract Area in India. The KG-OSN-2009/3 block Contract Area is located off the coast of Andhra Pradesh, India and MB-DWN-2009/1 block Contract Area is located off the west coast of India. As part of the initial exploration phase for these Contract Areas, CEIL is planning to acquire and/or process 1375 sq km  (Minimum) full fold area of 3D marine seismic data in KG-OSN-2009/3 block and 2000 lkm 2D Marine Seismic Survey with long offset for sub-basalt imaging in MB-DWN-2009/1 block. It is envisaged that the work will be conducted in Q4 CY 2011 / Q1 CY 2012.

CEIL has sought Expression of Interest (EoI) from suitably experienced marine seismic data acquisition and/orprocessing contractors for the work which broadly encompasses the following:

Acquisition  and processing  of  2000 lkm of  2D  in MB-DWN-2009/1 block  and  1375 sq.km. (minimum) full fold area of  3D marine seismic data in KG-OSN-2009/3 block, using towed  streamer receiver and air gun source techniques

Logistics support for the offshore operation including provision of support vessels as may be required

Provision of onboard processing for quality control of acquired seismic data.

Processing of 2D and 3D Seismic data to  pre-stack time migration (PSTM) and pre-stack Depth migration (PSDM), using advance techniques. An effective & detailed internal as well as remote QA/QC process will
be required.

With this EoI, CEIL intends to short list names of experienced Seismic Contractors to invite for the tender
for the 2D and 3D marine seismic data acquisition and /or processing services.
