Procurement Notice
This
Specific Procurement Notice follows the General Procurement Notice for this
Project that appeared UN Development
Business, issue No. 792 of February 16, 2011.
The
Government of Arab Republic of Egypt has
applied for a loan from the
African Development Bank
(ADB)
in the amount equivalent to USD 550 million, and intends to apply part of the proceeds of the
financing
to cover eligible payments under the Contract for the design and supply of the
Desalination Plant for Suez Thermal Power Plant.
Bidding
is open to all Bidders from eligible member countries as defined in the ADB’s
Rules of Procedure
for
Procurement of Goods and Works (May 2008 edition).
The
scope of work includes, but is not limited to, designing, fabricating,
furnishing, testing, delivery to the site, provide on-site technical services, training, start-up and commissioning for the Desalination Plant including accessories,
for Suez Thermal Power Plant.
East Delta Electricity Production Company (EDEPC),
the beneficiary of the financing/Executing Agency,
now
invites sealed Bids from prospective Bidders for the above-mentioned package.

Bidders are required to pay to EDEPC for each set of documents a non-refundable
fee of USD
1,000
payable at the National Bank of Egypt (El Ahly Bank), Ismailia Branch, Account
No. 11000441395.
Interested
eligible Bidders may obtain further information and inspect the bidding
documents at the same address.

be submitted on or before November 3,
2011 at 12:00 noon (Egypt local time) in two Envelopes.
Envelope
A must contain all the required information, except the schedules of Quantities
and Prices, and
must
be accompanied by a Bid Security in an acceptable form equal to USD 200,000,
valid for 210 Days
after
Bid opening. Envelope B must include the
schedules of Quantities and Prices. Bids
shall be valid for a period of 180 Days
after Bid opening.
Only
Envelope A of Bids will be opened on the same day at 1:00 p.m. (Egypt local
time), in the presence of Bidders’
representatives who choose to attend, at the Headquarters of EDEPC at the
address shown above.
Bidders
whose Bids have been determined to be substantially responsive shall be
informed of the opening date for
Envelopes B.
