GLOBAL EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR MAGNETIC MODELLING AFTER WELLS RESULTS

Cairn Lanka (Private) Limited (“CLPL”) is the Operator of the Offshore SL 2007-01-001 Contract Area. The Contract Area lies in the Gulf Mannar in deep water, just off the NW coast of Sri Lanka. After successful drilling campaign in Phase-I, CLPL has entered into Exploration Phase-II of the block.

CLPL on behalf of its joint ventures partners has sought Expression of Interest (EoI) under International Competitive Bidding Process (“ICB”) from suitably experienced magnetic modelling contractors (both Local and International) capable of carrying out this work, which broadly encompasses the following:

1. Retrieval, Compile and QC of existing magnetic modeling study carried out

2. Magnetic modeling using new constraints

a. Thickness of basalt

b. Measured magnetic susceptibility of basalt layers

3. Analysis of the uncertainties in the models and correlation with existing 3D seismic data and interpretation. Iterative mapping of the volcanic distribution and thicknesses (spatially as well as temporally).

4. Reporting and building GIS based output.

With this EoI, CLPL intends to short list experienced processing contractors for Magnetic modelling services contract.

Interested contractors who can fulfill all of the specifics listed above shall submit their response including the details and references stated above, within Seven (7) days of publication of this notice.

Nepal Electricity Board Tender for Supply, Delivery, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of PV Grid Tied Solar Project

1.         Nepal has received a grant from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of the Energy Access and Efficiency Improvement Project. It is intended that part of this grant will be applied to payments under the contract named above.

2.         The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA, the Employer), has invited sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Supply, Delivery, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of PV Grid Tied Solar Project. The bid is divided into two separate lots and bidders must submit their bid for both the lots. Bid for single lot shall not be entertained.

                Lot 1: 100 kW grid tied at NEA Training Centre, Kharipati, Bhaktpur, and

                Lot 2 a and b: 50 kW grid tied and 10kW stand alone power backup for emergency power Supply at Bir Hospital, Kathmandu

3.         International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB’s Single-Stage: Two Envelopes Bidding Procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries of the ADB.

4.         Bidders are required to have satisfactory experience as contractor, management contractor or sub-contractor, in at least 3 contracts within the last 10 years, each with a value of at least US$0.8 million that have been successfully or are substantially completed and that are similar to the proposed plant and services. The similarity shall be based on the physical size, complexity, methods, technology or other characteristics as described in Section 6 (Employer’s Requirements) of the bidding document. Bidders shall have successfully executed as a prime contractor or manufacturer for the Supply, Construction and installation of at least two number of grid connected PV projects with the size of at least 100kWp for single project, as a prime contractor on turnkey basis for the past ten years.

6.         To purchase the Bidding Documents in English, eligible bidders should:

Request for delivery by sending a written application to the address below requesting the bidding documents for Nepal: Energy Access and Efficiency Improvement Project: Supply, Delivery, Turnkey Installation, Testing and Commissioning of PV Grid Tied Solar Project. The application must include a bank draft in favour of NEA, Kathmandu, Nepal, for the amount of 2000.00 Nepalese Rupees (domestic delivery) or US$ 70.00 (overseas delivery). The document will be sent by courier. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.


Last Date of submission of Bid: on or before the deadline  1 June 2012 at 12:00 Noon  together with a Bid Security in the amount as specified in the Bid Data Sheet.

1. Government of Nepal (GoN) has received credit/grant from the International Development Association and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit/grant to payments under the contract for Supply, Construction and Installation of Ilam, Phidim and Kabeli Substations, Tender No. ICB-KC 68-1.
