Ethiopia; Assela Wind Farm Project

GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE
FEDERAL DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ETHIOPIA
ASSELA WIND FARM PROJECT

1. The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a loan from the African Development Fund to finance the Assela Wind Farm Project.

2. The principal objectives of this project are to ensure the sustainability and reliability of hydro electricity generation of the country by diversifying the energy mix from alternative renewable energy resources.

3. The project includes the following components:

Consultancy Service for:

A. Site Identifications, Met. masts sitting and installations and wind resource assessment

B. Technical feasibility study

C. Estimation of investment costs

D. Estimation of benefits

E. Preparation of Bill of Quantities(BOQ) and Construction Schedule

F. Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA)

G. Economic and Financial Analysis

H. Preparation of Terms of Reference(TOR) for Engineering Consultant

4. Acquisition of the services of Consultants will follow the Bank's Rules and Procedure for the Use of Consultants. Request for Proposal documents for the Consultancy Services is expected to be available in May 2012.
